No, the breathing monitor should be used in a stationary, standalone crib.
Do not place another baby or a pet in the crib. Babysense cannot be used for two babies in the same crib.
Babysense continuously monitors breathing and respiratory movements, and it triggers an audible and visual alarm if movements stop for 20 seconds or if the breathing rate drops below 10 breaths per minute.
The Crossroads Foundation rents Babysense breathing monitors as part of the “Mommy, I’m Breathing” project throughout Slovakia, in cooperation with contracted hospitals and selected Dr. Max pharmacies. Babysense breathing monitors are also available for home use. A list of hospitals and pharmacies participating in the project can be found on our website: nadaciakrizovatka.sk/en/vypozicne-miesta.
Renting a breathing monitor does not require a prior reservation. If you give birth in one of the cooperating hospitals, you can rent a monitor before leaving the hospital. For rentals through one of the pharmacies, you only need to reserve the monitor by phone before the planned pickup.
A valid ID card and proof of payment of the contribution are required to rent a monitor. The contribution can be paid directly at the rental location.
Babysense sensor pads detect your baby’s body movements, and the control unit’s microprocessor algorithm is designed to recognize the rhythm and pattern of these movements.
Babysense is not just another movement monitor, as it has parameters that define the ratio of breathing activity that is too slow (below 10 micro-movements per minute), too fast (over 90 micro-movements per minute), or absent for 20 seconds.
