Nadácia
Križovatka

A non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2008.

Thanks to donors and sponsors, we help equip Slovak hospitals and maternity wards with Babysense breathing monitors, which are registered with the Slovak Ministry of Health as medical devices and have undergone several years of clinical testing.

At these departments, we establish rental locations that allow parents of at-risk children to rent a breathing monitor for home use for the necessary period.

We are the only ones in Slovakia raising awareness about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). We highlight the risk factors that contribute to its occurrence and ways to minimize them. Our information can save lives.

How we fulfill our mission

We equip hospitals with breathing monitors

project: “Mommy, I’m breathing.”

Our main activity is facilitating the donation of breathing monitors between a donor/partner and a hospital. We reach out to companies, organizations, or individuals and arrange their contributions to donate these devices. Often, these are companies that are regionally close to the recipient hospital or have a personal experience with SIDS connected to the hospital.

This process involves numerous formal steps, including drafting donation agreements and handover protocols, issuing a press release, ensuring photographic documentation, thorough record-keeping, and the physical preparation of the donated monitors (applying partner logos), arranging the logistical transport of the monitors, and organizing the ceremonial handover at the hospital, to which we always invite all representatives of our partners.

We establish breathing monitor rental locations in Slovakia.

To help mothers and fathers of newborns sleep peacefully at home—after experiencing this reassurance in the hospital, where their baby’s breathing was monitored—we help establish and operate rental locations at hospital departments and Dr. Max pharmacies. Breathing monitors are rented for the necessary duration of the infant’s at-risk period.

This activity involves the most administrative and organizational work, which is why we work closely with selected nurses in hospitals and Dr. Max pharmacies.
